Student Orientations

As we continue to monitor the needs for opening, we have made another change to our calendar to include an orientation week for all students. We want to ensure proper time for students to get acclimated to returning to the building and make it possible to receive the essential materials to do so. Shipping delays to necessary items continue to compel us to make adjustments. Please note the following orientation days:
  • Monday, Aug. 31, 9-11:30am -- 5 Days In-person Students
  • Tuesday, Sept. 1, 9-11:30am -- 2 or 3 Days fixed In-Person Students
  • Wednesday, Sept. 2, 9-11:30am -- All Virtual Only Students
  • Thursday, Sept. 3, 9-11:30am -- Blue Team
  • Friday, Sept. 4, 9-11:30am -- White Team
Each day, the assigned group will attend their classroom, meet their teacher, and just get used to being back in the classroom. The teachers have been planning fun activities to help ease some of the anxiety students may be feeling while allowing them the opportunity to ask questions about daily process, procedures, and schedules. Some key points:
  • Students should wear their regular uniform
  • Doors will open at 8:45am each day for morning drop off
  • Dismissal will begin at 11:30am
  • Parents should plan to follow the normal drop off and pick up procedures—please don’t forget to display your carpool number from the rearview mirror
  • Middle School students should be dropped off at the circle main door but walk back towards the JP2 building for entrance
  • Students in K-5 should pull forward toward the end of the sidewalk in order to enter the building at the 4/5 doorway or EDC doorway (K-3)
  • Faculty will be outside to welcome and guide students with this new process.
