This fall the CYO will be sponsoring a track and cross country season. St. Louis will be fielding a team in both sports. Fall track will have just one meet on October 23rd at Bishop O’Connell HS. Cross country will have three meets – a developmental meet on September 18, a developmental meet on October 30, and a championship meet on November 6. All athletes – boys and girls – in grades 3 through 8 are welcome on the St. Louis teams. No experience needed. Track has field events, sprints, middle distance runs, and longer runs so there is a fit for all athletes. Cross country athletes run age appropriate distances and the developmental meets are used to get athletes ready for the championship competition. Athletes are also welcome, even encouraged, to join both teams, if they are interested. The teams will have joint practices for a good part of the season to allow athletes to compete on teams.
